During the night it rained. As I got up it was raining. During my Quiet Time it rained. The skies just wept steadily all morning. Well the whole day actually. A greyness pervaded the landscape and the skies, and a feeling of a great dampness filled the air.

Ken took me to our first gate (on the Highway) to meet Kerry Anne who came to fetch me to take me into Wauchope with her. I love this mode of transport, that is, the quad bike. I know not why I bother to brush my hair, put makeup on, iron my clothes, have a shower or try to look respectable. Although I was wearing Ken’s old plastic yellow rainproof pants (rain proof they are not!) one of his large rain proof jackets, and holding an umbrella while balancing on the back of the quad bike, clutching onto my handbag, and the bag holding library books I felt decidedly soggy, was splattered with mud and felt a little damp to the edges, by the time I got to the gate. Ah! Well! I do try….

As to day is the day I have Bible Study, but had no means of transport, Kerry Anne once again came to my rescue. She does “Story Time” at the library on Wednesday mornings for the little ones there, so I went in with her. While she was reading to the children I walked around the library, found a comfortable chair and listened to the children’s stories from afar. She does a good job at storytelling. She is just a born storyteller that girl is!

From there we toddled around town a little and took ourselves off to the Tavern for a nice hot lunch, and from there we picked up Irene and headed off to the church for our first Bible Study of the term.

After taking Irene home, Kerry Anne then took me to our friends - Peter and Sue’s  home - where my car was parked and I drove home from there. Hmmm! Good to have wheels again.

Because everything is so wet Ken has not been able to get much done on the farm. He fed the bulls, checked on the cattle at the back of the farm and that had to be that for to day.

My saying for to day is ….

“A man who lives in a glass house should change in basement.”
