I sneaked out of bed at just after four this morning, trying not to make too much noise as I wanted both Ken and Richard to sleep in. Apparently I succeeded as no one stirred as I lit the fire, made myself a mug of coffee and settled down for my Quiet Time.
Once Ken was up he went down to feed the bulls and move the electric tape, then he came back up to the shed so that the three of us could have breakfast together. Richard had a long trip ahead of him and I had craft, so the two of us left the farm together. It was so nice that Richard made the time to come and visit us, as it was way out of his way. So thank you Richard for that, both Ken and I really appreciated your kindness in doing that.
It was so good to be back at craft again, and I asked Heather and Rae and those interested about how I should finish the baby duvet cover. It was nice to have their input, and I am now more confident of how to finish the cover off. Hopefully that will happen some time this week. I returned Erica’s sewing machine (which she so kindly loaned me) but forgot the instruction manual, so will have to return that to her to morrow. What a lovely sewing machine and it really did the job. Thanks Erica!
As I was driving back across the river it began to spit, and by the time I got home it was raining. Then out of the blue came asclap of thunder, soem flashes of lightening and shortly after that, when Ken got in, the sky opened and buckets of rain came down and then the hail followed. Thankfully it was only small hail and it came down for a short time only, as my car was still outside.
In the afternoon I sent some time on the ‘Net trying to find some paper embroidery patterns, so that I could complete a pattern I began some time ago, and for which I no longer have a pattern for. After much searching I found the pattern I needed, so I was mighty chuffed.
I took my car down to the bottom shed in the later afternoon and then Ken brought me back up to this shed on the quad bike, and then he disappeared over the hills and far away to check on the weaners being agisted at Andy and Virginia’s place. They were all fine and in the right place to day.
Late this afternoon we heard the wonderful news that Paddy has been made the GM for the two companies that have merged, that is Intervet and Schering Plough. Talk about being proud parents, I now have a strut to my walk! Well done Paddy, and we wish you every success in this new venture!
My suggestion for to day is ….
“A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep when you hit the snooze button.”
